Should Sikh students be able to bring Kirpan to schools in the U.S.?

I've known a number Sikhs, old and young, and they were are well-behaved, mature and thoroughly trustworthy individuals. I wouldn't have a problem with any Sikh boys carrying kirpan on campus. I'd worry about another, typically dippy American child getting his hands on it, playing with it and hurting himself or someone else.
