Fairness of Landlord's claim on my deposit in FL?

I was just wondering if I can fight a claim that is more than my deposit because the landlord wants to put in WAY more expensive carpeting than what was in my apt before I left? There's only a few coffee stains on the carpet, can't that be taken out with a carpet cleaner?
